f you are stationed at Presidio of Monterey, Travis Air Force Base, Beale AFB, or Camp Parks, or you're a military spouse or veteran residing along California’s Central Coast, you’re not alone—and help is available.
What is PTSD?
PTSD is a mental health condition that can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. While often associated with combat, PTSD can also result from sexual assault, accidents, abuse, medical trauma, or other life-threatening experiences.
Symptoms may include:
Intrusive thoughts or flashbacks
Nightmares and sleep disturbances
Avoidance of reminders of the trauma
Hypervigilance or exaggerated startle responses
Anxiety, irritability, or emotional numbness
If these symptoms persist and interfere with daily life, it’s important to seek professional help.
